The Last Frontier Amateur Radio Society is pleased to announce that we have partnered with the ARRL VEC for license testing.
What is Fully Remote Testing?
Fully remote testing (or “virtual testing”) is defined as a method of exam delivery where you have 1 applicant with two video feeds in the same room and at least 3 accredited Volunteer Examiners monitoring remotely by video conference.
Important Information
- All of our sessions are listed in the Alaska Time Zone. Calculate the time difference if you are elsewhere.
- Check applicant eligibility HERE.
- You need two devices: a laptop/desktop to display your exam, and a smartphone/tablet for an additional camera angle. Setup instructions HERE.
- Use a current, updated web browser.
- Install Zoom desktop client or mobile app on both devices.
- $15 fee payable by credit/debit card. Free exams available for qualifying applicants. Details HERE.
- Email correspondence with detailed instructions will be sent. Follow all steps or the exam will be canceled. More info HERE.
- Passing results may take 5-10 business days to be processed by the FCC.
Failure to follow these requirements will result in no exam being administered. Refunds are not provided for noncompliance.
