License Testing Update
As of Friday, April 24th, 2026, the Last Frontier Amateur Radio Society has discontinued all amateur radio license testing operations.
This decision was made following careful evaluation of our program, including reduced demand for testing sessions, limited participation, and the availability of larger organizations offering expanded testing opportunities across multiple time zones. After thorough discussion, it was determined that continuing license testing under our current structure was no longer sustainable.
We are incredibly grateful to the many applicants and Volunteer Examiners who participated in our program. It has been an honor to serve the amateur radio community and assist individuals in obtaining their licenses.
Looking Ahead
The Board of Directors is currently evaluating the future direction of the Society. While license testing has been discontinued, discussions are ongoing regarding whether the organization may continue in another form under new leadership.
Recommended License Testing
For those seeking to obtain an amateur radio license, I personally recommend the Aurora Amateur Radio Group, an organization I originally founded in September 2016. They offer a well-established and highly accessible remote testing program.
