Founded in the spring of 2023, our vision was born out of a desire to rekindle a tradition that time had too often set aside—the call to serve Alaska through amateur radio with purpose, integrity, and dedication.  From the very beginning, we embraced a simple yet powerful guiding principle: to do amateur radio right. While perfection may be beyond reach, our steadfast commitment is grounded in the values of honesty, integrity, and selfless service.

The Last Frontier Amateur Radio Society carries this mindset into every community across Alaska, seeking to ensure that amateur radio remains accessible, relevant, and thriving.  By expanding opportunities for testing and creating pathways for new and experienced operators alike, we strive to bridge the vast distances of our state—both geographical and generational.

To serve Alaska in this way is not just a mission, but our greatest honor.

Mission Statement

“To serve the amateur radio community throughout Alaska and beyond with honesty, integrity, sound leadership, compassion, and respect in the act of selfless service to anyone, regardless of physical location.”
